The road follows the river northeast for roughly 30 miles (48 km) as it carves its way through tall red rock cliffs. Along the way are enjoyable views of the swift moving Colorado River.
You may see adventure seekers who use this section of the Colorado River for kayaking, whitewater rafting, and other river sports. A few picnic areas and sandy river banks make for great spots to pull over and enjoy the cool river after a day of hiking. Exploring this quiet river is a great way to see more of the surrounding area on a scenic and relaxing drive. This beautiful drive is a great way to see more towering red rock cliffs against the coolness of the river. In addition to the drive, ask your guide to stop at the bridge at the mouth of the canyon for a refreshing walk across the bridge!
