Little Wild Horse is a narrow slot canyon that is packed with fun and mystery. Kids and adults alike will thrill at the twists and turns between sandstone cliffs. From the parking area the trail begins in a wide, sandy wash and progressively narrows until it reaches the slot canyon. This hike can be done as an eight mile (12.8 km) loop or by hiking in a few miles and then retracing the same route back to the trailhead. When hiking a shorter option, the turn around point is marked by a dramatic widening of the canyon and seeing that the trail going further requires wading through standing water. While the more adventurous explorers may press on, many find this spot to be the perfect place to enjoy nature while having lunch and then heading back. This is likely one of the most visited places in the San Rafael Swell due to it being family friendly and in close proximity to Goblin Valley State Park.
