This dramatic arch suddenly comes into view as you round a corner on the main park road in Arches National Park. A quick road-side stop with a short walk up some rocky steps will lead you to an up close experience with Skyline Arch. Additionally, there is a paved walkway from the opposite side of the arch accessible from the Devils Garden Campground. An interesting note about this arch is that it changed dramatically in 1940 when a large boulder fell from inside, almost doubling its size. It is interesting to speculate at the rock remnants now below the arch. For now, the arch spans 71 feet (21.6 m) with a height of 33.5 feet (10.2 m).
